Sorry this is a bit late this month - I’ve been away.
Here’s the new challenge over at Teitho:
At Teitho, the challenge for June is Strange Encounter. What draws us to the world Tolkien created is not only the characters. To a large extent, it is also the fact that Middle Earth is a place of many wonders and surprises. To read Tolkien means exploring strange and unknown lands and people. And while Tolkien’s descriptions are full of detail, he leaves gaps as well. So who can know what creatures and wonders await at the far corners of Middle Earth - or just around the next bend in the path for that matter? If you want to participate in this challenge, head over to the website to see all further info. The deadline for this challenge is June 25th.

At Teitho, the challenge for May is Crime and Punishment: You could take this challenge as an opportunity to explore how “crime and punishment” would have looked in Middle Earth. Or you could approach this challenge on a more personal level: How would Aragorn be punished by his wife if he forgot their anniversary? The deadline for this challenge is May 25th. If you want to know more and/or participate, please visit the website.

It seems that since the internet and fanfiction combined there have been fanfic sites hosted at GeoCities - Authors could upload and host their fanfic on their own homepages to share with the world. While nowadays there’s plenty of sites that host and archive fanfiction there’s still plenty of old stuff to be found via GeoCities.
Unfortunately that won’t be the case for much longer according to this report. At the end of the year GeoCities will be closed.
As mentioned there are plenty of places to choose from when it comes to fanfic from personal pages to sites like my own fanfiction archive and fanfiction.net etc but if you have (or know of anyone) that has some old stuff hosted on GeoCities and nowhere else now is the time to move it somewhere else if you still want it available to share with others.
Over time there’s been an awful lot of incredibly good fanfic that has just disappeared from the ‘net - some of it is deliberate (the authors wanting it removed etc) some of it not (sites closing before authors have a chance to move it - and not having a backup etc)Â and I’d hate to see more of it go.
If you have your stuff hosted on a GeoCities homepage and you want it to remain online please take a moment to find out where else you can host it (or if you no someone please pass the message on) there’s plenty of other hopefully more permanent places it can be archived**
Help spread the word now before more fanfic sites disappear
** as a side note if you’re interested in hosting it on your very own site or blog but don’t know where or how to start feel free to give me a yell and I’d be happy to help you get your own site set up

At Teitho, the challenge for April is “When I Was Your Age…!” Haven’t we all heard that sentence in our youth, mostly spoken in a long-suffering voice by an adult? It would be followed by the story of a misspent youth or the recounting of a marvelous adventure or a wise decision we would never have come up with in the same situation. In the end, there would be a morale, something along the lines of “Do as I did,” or “Don’t ever do as I did”. And most likely we would take nothing away from the story, and would instead make our own mistakes! If you want to participate in this challenge, head over to the website to see all further info. The deadline for this challenge is April 25th.

So if you’ve read the Virtual Season 2 of Women’s Murder Club
I’m sure you’re desperately hoping there’s going to be a season 3 - And if you haven’t read it - Why Not? it’s brilliant.
One of the best virtual seasons I’ve come across and even if you never watched the show you can still get hooked on it. If you want to start from the beginning here’s the episode list - Virtual Season 2
Now if you did read it - and you want to know whether there’s going to be a season 3, here’s link to a recent interview with all those involved with the virtual season.
These writers, artists and beta-readers did an incredible job - some of those writers are all time favourites of mine and there fanfics are in my to be read over and over again file while I was introduced to a few new authors who are quickly moving up my top writers list. The artwork is fantastic and after reading the interview with the betas they are incredible in their field as well .
Here’s the interview - WMC - Behind The Scenes 2 (yes there is an earlier interview)
As always if you read these episodes don’t forget to drop an note to those involved there’s several links to allow you to leave feedback.

I’ve been a bit slack on the fanfiction updates front, aside from being that time of year and being flat out at work it’s been way too hot to even think about spending too much time in front of the computer - we’ve had days of over 40C heat (with no real break to it in site) so I’ve really on done a little behind the scenes type stuff; tidying things up etc.
There is however a new challenge over at Teitho
So for those of you whose brains aren’t melting in the heat…
At Teitho, the challenge for February is Excuses in all possible forms: excuses for situations or behaviour and, of course, apologies. The challenge will end February 25th. If you want to participate, head over to the website to see all further info.

Just another quick update post. Haven’t really done too much at all, other than a bit of behind the scenes type stuff. I’ve been flat out in real life - for the first time in over ten years I’m back in retail at Christmas time - I’d forgotten just how busy it gets.
I have added several more fandoms and stories to the new fanficton ebooks section and I’d like to say thanks again to those authors who have allowed me to format their stories. There’s still plenty more to come - and while it’ll be slow going between now and the new year I will try to add some new ones on a regular basis. Each of the authors also has a link back to their main site or email address so remember if you read and enjoy take those few extra minutes to say thanks
it’s what keeps them writing and entertaining us
A few of the new fandoms in the ebooks section are
Criminal Minds Ebooks
Stargate Ebooks
Star Trek Ebooks
Law And Order Ebooks
Grey’s Anatomy Ebooks
House Ebooks
Bionic Woman Ebooks
Plus additional stories in other fandoms

The new section is off to a start - Fanfiction Ebooks now has the beginnings of what will hopefully be an extensive selection of stories ready for you to read on your PDA
(or pc if you use MSReader there’s a .lit version too)
So far there’s fanfic ebooks in these fandoms:
Angel Ebooks
Buffy Ebooks
Facts Of Life Ebooks
Women’s Murder Club Ebooks
Xena Ebooks
I’d like to once again thanks those writers who have already given me permission to archive their stories and as always remember: if you read and enjoy a story don’t forget to take a couple of minutes (or longer) to thank the writer(s)
