For many people the thought of what could only be a doomed relationship between a vampire (Angel) and a Vampire Slayer (buffy) is what kept them glued to their television screens each week. But as the Buffy series (and its subsequent spin-off Angel) continued to grow so too did the characters and their relationships, and it wasn’t long before shippers (those who wanted to see/read about certain pairings) began writing about and reading what they considered to be the perfect couple. Many of these stories are canon (stick to the pairings in the show) but there’s also a lot of unconvetional relationship stories out there (those that people wanted to see, or believe were the true relationships).
