Fanfiction Updates 24 July 2008
Well it’s that time again - below you’ll find what’s been going on in the wonderful world of fanfiction, both within this fanfiction site and across the internet.
Main Fanfiction Site:
First and Foremost is the move to the new domain name you’ll now find the main site, along with the fanfiction archive and beta-readers forum at the new url{ http://fanfic-4all.com (as always there are links to be found within the blog etc)
I’ve added a new page that lists the beginning of what could turn into a very long list of online virtual seasons. So if you’re wondering what others have come up with after your favourite television show finished its run on tv check these out - Virtual Seasons
If you’d like me to add your virtual season to the list - just let me know.
I’ve also made a separate page in recognition of the International Day Of Femslash - this was held on the 19th July 2008 and from what I’ve read will now become an annual event. You can find more information on that here: Femslash
Fanfiction Archive:
While the number of members is increasing, I’m still trying to get more writers to submit their fanfiction. Of course this will be an ongoing process and hopefully before long there will be a wide selection for readers/writers to choose from. Remember if I haven’t yet added your fandom/characters just let me know (either through this blog or the contact form on the archive site)

The Peaceful Pathway by Ovan -
The Peaceful Pathway is a Fanficiton story loosely based off of and inspired by Watsuki Nobuhiro’s famous title “Rurouni Kenshin”.
The Warring States Period was a time of social upheaval, political intrigue, and nearly constant military in Japan that lasted roughly from the middle of the 15th century to the beginning of the 17th century.
Although the Ashikaga Shogunate had retained the structure of the Kamakura Bakufu and instituted a warrior government based on the same social economic rights and obligations established by the Houjou with the Jouei Code in 1232, it failed to win the loyalty of many Daimyo, especially those whose domains were as far as Kyoto. As trade with China grew, the economy developed, and the use of money became widespread as markets and commercial cities appeared.
This, combined with developments in agriculture and small-scale trading, led to the desire for greater local autonomy throughout all levels of the social hierarchy. As early as the beginning of the 15th century, suffering and misery caused by natural disasters such as earthquakes and famines often served to trigger armed uprisings by farmers weary of debt and taxes. The Sengoku period consisted of different periods of fission and fusion. This story is based off of those events.
Remember if you read and enjoy a story - either on the fanfiction archive or elsewhere online - take the time to let the writer know your thoughts - either via a review or email etc.
Other Stuff.
Yay for me - you may remember a little while ago I wrote a post about the demise of my PDA - well I bit the bullet yesterday and got myself a new one (well okay it’s second hand - but it’s new to me) while it has more bells and whistles than what I’ll ever need - now that I’ve got it figured out (the one problem with buying second hand is no user manuals or discs etc) it does what I want it to - that is - lets me put my fanfic stories on there so I can read them in comfort rather than having to try and stare at this computer screen for hours on end) for those interested it’s a hp iPaq h1910
I think that about covers it for now - If you have any questions, comments or suggestions just let me know.
