Heroes - A Review
One of the best new shows out this past season, I hope that Heroes is around to stay for awhile.
With the initial slogan of “Save the Cheerleader, Save the World”, it was hard to gauge the success of the show. The slogan, catchy and honestly irritating at times, is still what I think of when I think of Heroes.
What Makes it Work
The thing that makes Heroes so inviting, in my opinion, is the fact that the characters are so likeable and that each one is so unique.
The premise of the show is that there are people around the world who realize that they have some supernatural powers. Some of them have been living with their powers for awhile, and choose to hide them, and some of them are just realizing it for the first time.
In each episode they get closer together, finding each other and realizing that there is a bigger force that is pulling them together. At first to “Save the Cheerleader” and now to “Save the World”.
The plot keeps thickening each week as new characters are introduced, and old characters prove to have ties to each other that are just mind blowing.
What Will Keep it Around
Who hasn’t ever thought about flying?
Who hasn’t wished they could be invisible?
Who hasn’t pictured them a Hero, wanting to save the world?
Heroes brings together both the qualities of childhood fantasies and some bitter realities of life.
I think that Heroes will continue to do well and will soar in ratings as we continue to get more in depth with the characters and their relationships to one another.
Happy Watching!
